What is Yen?

The official text says you defeat players to earn Yen and use Yen to unlock characters. It does not publish a per-hit rate. Community sessions describe small payments for hits and larger ones for knockouts, including single-session figures of about 5 Yen for a new target and about 40 to 50 Yen for some edge knockouts. An August 22 article said thresholds grant kits without spending the total. An August 5 session said a purchase removes the Yen. The panel verb decides which is true today.
