How to read this list
The newest item is an October 14, 2026 universe update. It confirms the 20-character description and does not name the new moves. Gear 5 is still a future card as of October 14. Older rows explain why guides still say 18 characters.
How do you read Anime Ability Arena updates?
Use Latest Update when you only need the current drop. Use Patch Notes when you need the dated log. A Roblox timestamp only says something shipped.
What changed in Anime Ability Arena recently?
- Description lists 20 characters
The Games API updated field was 2026-10-14T00:24:47Z. The description says 20 playable characters, unique movesets, Yen from fighting, and more characters coming. It does not name a buff, a new move, or the two slots beyond the older 18-count. The same day's places list includes Easy Mode with an empty description.
- Gear 5 variant card is scheduled
The official experience page showed an event card for Saturday, October 17, at 1:00 PM, titled GEAR 5, with the line NEW VARIANT CHARACTER. As of October 14 this had not happened. A public schedule displayed October 17 at 5:00 PM instead. Neither display stated a time zone or named the character. Do not treat Gear 5 as a released moveset yet.

On September 9, 2026 the official description still said 18 playable characters, and the universe updated timestamp that day did not include patch text. Use this row to explain older tables. It is not the current roster count.
- Diyo documented in a gameplay report
A September 5, 2026 gameplay report described Diyo at a reported 55,000 Yen, with Punch, Dash, Stand Barrage, and Road Roller. That is a community kit report, not a developer patch note.
